The new entrance way has it's coat of paint called
"Roasted Pepper. Still have the window and door casing to put on. I am going
to keep that white.
The trim is all around the window in the new den.
Looks great.
The support wall has caused nothing but grief.
Major grief. I have never seen so many pin holes in drywall. The red was not
covering all the flaws. When the sun shone on the wall all the spots really
showed up. It had 1 coat white primer, one coat grey primer, 2 coats red. All
that work and it looked terrible.
We ran a tack tape all around the perimeter of the
walls and ceiling, to get the straight line, took off the tape and all the old
paint stuck to the tape. There was no primer on the drywall. I had to fill and
primer the lining room wall. Same thing happened on the south and west wall
corner. Had to fill the entire height. I was so mad, I felt like throwing in
the towel. Mud, sand, mud, sand and then I painted another coat white high
hide sealer, 2 coats grey, and today I am
going to be painting the red.

Well, I have finally got some paint in the bathroom. It is not finished yet,
but is coming along. I am painting a tecnique called "FRESCO". Looks somewhat
like parchment paper. The dark green wall around the tub and west wall are
just painted the base coat. All the others have the fresco, except for one. It
looks pretty good. I think you can tell, this is afirst for me with this
tecnique. but it is growing on me. Will have to see what Anno thinks when he
gets home.
Anno and I have been married 20 years today.
love to all.

Here are a few more pictures. New tub and shower installed!
Today Ralph tiled above the Shower and almost got the tile around the tub.
This is Ralph's first attempt at tiling. He has done a pretty good job.
Lloyd did the second coat of mudding tomorrow will be the last coat.
I have finished taking off the wallpaper in the old laundry room and have just
a bit of stippling to remove.
Tomorrow, Westwind interiors are coming to measure
the landing and steps and advise me about the best material for a business
entry way. I would really like to have a rough ceramic tile. Anno is quite
opposed to this. So hopefully there will be something that we can both like.
We have had so many different comments on tile, lino, hardwood, laminate. My
main concern is for the clients. Their safety is #1 priority.
All is going pretty well. Lloyd is tired from
mudding. This is the 2nd day and another one tomorrow. If my hands were not so
sore I'd give the each a shoulder massage.
That is all for now.

I am so tired today.Joyce and I have been working
since 9:00 this morning and we are wiped. Today we ripped out some more
drywall in the bathroom and some more timber. We also ripped off some drywall
in the hall and beside the coat closet by the back door. I was pulling a spike
and was realy reefing on it and my arm and the crowbar went very fast to the
back of my body and I started falling off the ladder. I did some fancy
stepping to get down with out falling.
Tomorrow the tub and new shower get installed and
the new bathroom wall will be constructed. It will take up some of the old
laundry room, that is why I ripped out the door and some of the wall. Anno
wanted it moved down but I would like to open it right up and make it into a
open room, take out the back hall closet and build in a full wall of doored
closets. Anno is not wanting to do this at all. I would realy like more room
at the back door. I have lost the two hall storage areas as well as the front
closet and feel that opening up that back room will be the best way to go.
Also would eliminate the need to turn that corner also. Lloyd will have to
replace some of the bathroom floor as it has black mold. They bought special
wallboard for the bathroom.
Today they finished up the wall board, filled up
the holes for the old hallway cupboards. Is the hallway now dark or what? They
did a little bit of mudding also. Put in an extra plug along the new west
kitchen wall. The stairwell is now drywalled. I have to pick out some hardwood
to put along the top and down east side of the basement stairs. Mike, Tara's
new boyfriend suggested oak. I don't know if i should go with metal or wood
railing. I like the idea of metal, but Anno would prefer wood. But we have to
decide quickly. I am going to speak to Star Industries tomorrow to see what
they say as to cost and design for metal.
